Recycling Efforts + Guide Dog Foundation

Our 2 ¢ to save the planet
We are proud to partner with Bausch + Lomb through their ONE by ONE Program to create training modules for the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind. It was amazing to see the direct impact the program has had on the community. The Guide Dog Foundation is a national not-for-profit that trains guide dogs for people who are blind or visually impaired. The training modules, including benches, tables, waste stations, and an agility ramp, were made from used contact lens materials collected through the Bausch + Lomb ONE by ONE Recycling Program, along with other recycled material.
To date, more than 6000 of my colleagues have signed up as official recycling centers of the ONE by ONE Recycling Program. It is because of their support, and the support of YOU - contact lens-wearing patients, this program has been able to collect nearly 33 million used contact lenses, blister packs and top foils and divert more than 196,000 pounds of contact lens waste from oceans, lakes, streams and landfills.
The training modules will be presented to the Guide Dog Foundation at its headquarters in Smithtown, New York, and will be utilized in the training of guide dogs for individuals who are blind or visually impaired as well as helping to further enhance the campus for those who visit.
I’m proud to partner with a company that continues to focus and commit to sustainability, today and every day.
We encourage our clients to continue supporting this initiative.
